Finding your way around

The header, document row, agent column, dock and timeline that the studios share, plus settings, language and dark mode.

The studios share one layout, so what you learn in one works in the others.

  • Logo – back to the skin studio.
  • Studio switch – Skins and Builds (and further studios when they are enabled).
  • Gallery – the public gallery of the current studio.
  • Publish – publishes the current skin or build to the gallery. The arrow next to it opens Export, the download of the current document.
  • Account – sign in or out, see Accounts and sign-in.
  • Menu – signed in, under your account's initial, above Sign out; signed out, the ☰ button next to Sign in. It holds everything else: New skin, Import skin, Export rendering, Secret link, Import build JSON, Build guide & tools, Knowledge base (this site, in a new tab), Feedback and Settings.

Document row

Below the header sits the name of the open skin or build – click to rename it. The arrow next to it switches to your other skins or builds; the save status (Saving…, Saved) appears beside it.

  • Skins: the view switch 3D · Split · 2D sits beside the name. A strip on the left shows your recent skins; its arrows step through them.
  • Builds: Details on the left opens a sidebar with two tabs: Structure (the parts of the build) and Materials (bill of materials and effort). Agent on the right shows or hides the agent column.

Agent column

The column on the right is where you work with your agent: your requests, the agent's steps and updates, and the input line for new requests at the bottom. Its header holds Connect agent (the link icon). While no agent is connected, the pairing code is shown in the column right away. See Connect an agent and Requests, marks and Finish.

Dock

A dock floats at the bottom centre of the canvas:

  • Skins: Pencil, Eraser, Fill face, Rotate, the color swatch, Body parts and layers (body parts, Base/Outer layer, Classic/Slim model) and Mark.
  • Builds: Mark, Tour, Walk and Slice.

The little figure next to it shows what your agent is doing (it can be turned off in Settings).

Timeline

The timeline at the bottom records every change with its author (you or the agent): Undo, Redo, Replay and the steps. The skin studio adds History for versions and checkpoints. See Skin timeline and Build timeline.

Settings

Menu → Settings looks the same in every studio and is saved in this browser. Its tabs:

  • General – Appearance (System, Light or Dark), Language (English or Deutsch, shared by all studios and this knowledge base), Block textures (genMC textures or Minecraft textures from your own game files) and Show Allo, the little figure in the bottom-right corner that shows what your agent is doing.
  • Skin editor – defaults for skins: view, paint layer, pose, animation, pixel grid, face labels.
  • Privacy – download or delete your data.
  • Help – quick help and a link to this knowledge base.
