Accounts and sign-in
Why an account is optional, how to sign in with an e-mail code or Google, and what happens to your work when you sign in or out.
Do I need an account?
No. Painting, building, saving, secret links, connecting an agent and exporting all work without an account. Your work belongs to this browser.
An account is useful when you want to
- publish skins or builds to the public gallery, and
- keep your builds and skins on every device and safe from cleared browser data.
Signing in
Choose Sign in in the header:
- Continue with Google, or
- enter your e-mail address and choose Send code. You receive a six-digit code that is valid for 10 minutes. Enter it to sign in.
There are no passwords. Your first sign-in creates the account. Use a permanent e-mail address; throwaway addresses are refused.
What happens to your work
- The first sign-in in a browser turns everything this browser made into your account's work.
- Signing in on another browser moves that browser's builds and skin drafts into your account too, so they come together.
- Signing out gives this browser a fresh, empty anonymous identity. Your work stays in the account; sign in again to get it back.
Limits against abuse
Code e-mails are limited per address and per network, a code allows five attempts, and the check "Please confirm you are human" may appear before a code is sent. If you see Too many codes requested, wait a while and try again.
