Export, import and Minecraft

Download a build as JSON, .schem for WorldEdit, .mcfunction for datapacks, PNG or tour video – and bring JSON back in.

Open the arrow next to Publish in the header and choose Export. Export build offers these formats:

FormatUse it for
genMCP project · JSONA backup or a copy. Re-import it as a new build. Private requests and timeline history are not included.
Minecraft schematic · .schemSponge Schematic v3 for WorldEdit and compatible tools. Contains all blocks and air gaps inside the occupied bounds.
Minecraft Java · .mcfunctionA function file for a datapack that places the build with commands.
Current view · PNGAn image of the current camera and visible height, 1600 px wide.
Room tour · Video (MP4)The agent's room tour as a video, see Walk mode, tours and videos.

Using a .schem with WorldEdit

  1. Put the file into WorldEdit's schematics folder (for example config/worldedit/schematics/).
  2. In game: //schem load <name>, stand where the build should go, then //paste.

Entities and block-entity data (chest contents, sign text) are not part of genMC builds.

Using an .mcfunction

  1. In a datapack (Java 1.21.1 or newer) put the file at data/<namespace>/function/<name>.mcfunction. The datapack needs a pack.mcmeta for your version; genMC exports the function file only.
  2. Load the datapack, then run at the build's lowest corner:
/execute positioned 100 64 100 run function mybuild:villa

Without Clear the plot before placing, cells that are empty in the build keep whatever is in your world – place it in an open area. With the option, the file first clears the whole plot volume (in chunks below Minecraft's fill limit). Very large builds that would need more than 65,536 commands are refused; use .schem instead. Minecraft applies normal block physics when the commands run.

Import

Menu → Import build JSON opens a genMC JSON file as a new build (up to 480 MB). Your current build is not changed.

For agents

build_export creates JSON, .mcfunction or .schem (optionally downloading it for the user), build_export_render returns the current view as PNG and build_render_scene renders any angle without changing the user's view.
