What is genMC?

A Minecraft studio in the browser that you and your AI agent use together: skins, builds and more, live in one tab.

genMC is a creative studio for Minecraft that runs in your browser. You can paint and build by hand, or work together with an AI agent such as Claude, ChatGPT or Codex. You and the agent edit the same document in the same tab: every change the agent makes appears live in front of you, and every change you make is visible to the agent.

The studios

StudioAddressWhat you make
Skins/skin64 × 64 player skins (Classic and Slim), painted in 3D or on the 2D texture.
Builds/buildStructures of any size from the full Java 26.3 block library, from a hut to a whole city.

Switch studios with the switch at the top left of the header. Each studio keeps its own documents, history and agent tools. More about each: Skin studio basics and Build studio basics.

You and your agent

genMC has no built-in AI and needs no API key. Instead, you connect the agent you already use:

  • Agents with site tools in the browser (for example the Codex app's built-in browser) see genMC's tools directly when you open the studio there.
  • All other agents (Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor …) connect through genMC's MCP server with a short pairing code from Connect agent.

The agent can read your work, look at renders, place blocks or paint pixels, and keep listening for your next request. You stay in control: marks show it what you mean, the timeline undoes anything, and publishing always needs your own click. See How agents work with genMC and Connect an agent.

What it costs and what it stores

Creating, saving and exporting are free and need no account. Your work is saved automatically and privately to your browser. An optional account (e-mail code or Google) keeps your builds on every device and lets you publish to the public gallery. See Storage and privacy and Accounts and sign-in.
