# genMC > genMC is a free Minecraft studio in the browser for builds and skins, made to be used together with your own AI agent. genMC runs no AI of its own and never needs an API key: the agent you already use (Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Claude Code, Cursor or any MCP client) connects over MCP and builds in the user's browser tab while they watch. Key facts: - Start page: https://genmc.app/ · Build studio: https://genmc.app/build · Skin studio: https://genmc.app/skin · Public gallery: https://genmc.app/gallery/builds - Every gallery skin and build has its own page with picture, facts and downloads: https://genmc.app/gallery/skins/ and https://genmc.app/gallery/builds/ (all listed in https://genmc.app/sitemap.xml). A skin page links its 64 × 64 PNG (https://genmc.app/api/gallery/?png) and opens the skin in the studio as a remix (https://genmc.app/skin?remix=). - Free skins: 220 original Minecraft skins in 22 themes, free to wear, edit and remix with no credit needed: https://genmc.app/#free-skins, all of them as one ZIP at https://genmc.app/downloads/genmc-skin-drop-220.zip, also in https://genmc.app/gallery/skins. - MCP server: https://genmc.app/api/mcp. The user opens the studio, chooses "Connect agent" in the agent column and pastes the short pairing code (valid 10 minutes) into the agent's chat; from then on the agent's tools run in exactly that tab. Server card: https://genmc.app/.well-known/mcp/server-card.json. - WebMCP: agents in a browser with site tools (document.modelContext) see genMC's tools directly. The start page, the knowledge base and the guide offer genmc_about, genmc_docs and genmc_open (opens a studio, the gallery or an article); each studio offers its own tools (build_get_state and the build_* tools, get_skin_state and the skin tools) plus genmc_docs. - The agent writes small JavaScript construction programs, previews them, renders the scene to check its own work and commits each step to an undoable timeline (tools such as build_get_context, build_preview_program, build_render_scene, build_commit_preview). - The user can mark blocks in the 3D view and say what should change; their own edits always come first. - Walk (W A S D, Space, F to fly, E for doors), camera tours (export as MP4, 1920 × 1080), Slice through builds, named parts, a materials list in stacks and shulker boxes. - Export: Sponge v3 .schem (WorldEdit), .mcfunction (up to 65,536 commands), JSON, PNG renders (640–2,400 px). Skins: 64 × 64 Classic and Slim. - Limits: 10,000,000 blocks per build; the plot grows up to 768 blocks per axis. - Free; no account needed to build, save or export (saved privately in the browser). An optional account (e-mail code or Google) publishes to the gallery and syncs builds across devices. - genMC is an independent project, not an official Minecraft product, not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. - Agents can also read the knowledge base with the MCP tool genmc_docs, or over plain HTTP: https://genmc.app/api/docs (contents, `?q=` to search, `?article=&format=md` for one article). ## Getting started - [What is genMC?](https://genmc.app/api/docs?article=overview&format=md): A Minecraft studio in the browser that you and your AI agent use together: skins, builds and more, live in one tab.
